RVCLAX is proud to announce that starting Summer 2008, we will be fielding select teams as follows:

NOTE: GRADE IS not current Grade but  AS OF FALL OF 2008.

BOYS:  5/6th combined, 7/8th combined and 9/10th combined

GIRLS: 5/6th combined, 7/8th combined

What is Select?  Select are teams that will assemble, practice and play games and tournaments in the Summer and Fall of 2008.  This program starts after the PAL season and will not interfere with regular season play.

Why Select?  We as a club want to keep our talent and lacrosse commitment here in RVC.  The Select program is being developed to give our commited players a chance to compete on a higher level and to raise the profile of Lacrosse in RVC.

Who is eligble to try out?  Any player that is signed up for the 2008 Spring Lacrosse season, falls within the proper age group and is a member in good standing with the club.

When are tryouts?  Tryouts will take place in the Spring of 2008, all tryouts dates and times will be posted on the website. 

 How will teams be formed?  We are planning on having one team per age group and players will be  assessed and ranked by independent evaluators.  Regular season coaches will also have a say in the evaluation process.

What type or commitment does Select require?     Select players will be expected to make 1-2 practices a week in the offseason and also must be available to play for exhibition games and tournaments.

What are the costs involved with Select?  The Select program will have its own budget and players will be expected to cover the costs of coaches, referee’s, uniforms and tournament fees.  Additionally, depending on tounament selection, some teams may be required to travel out of state.  Travel, hotel and meal expenses also will be assessed as neccessary.
